Leisure
Everywhere in the UK claims to offer unrivalled leisure and sporting facilities, but few, if any, can match the range of activities and pursuits available in the North-East of Scotland. Aberdeen city is a lively, cosmopolitan city and the gateway to Aberdeenshire and Moray. Whether your interests are in theatre, nightclubs, sport (viewing or participating), hillwalking/ mountaineering, sailing, fine dining or more generally absorbing and becoming immersed in local culture. There is more than just something here for everyone.
Deeside is famous for the scenic splendour that has attracted generations of the Royal family to the Balmoral Estate. This stunning scenery is only equalled by the quality of the local food and drink. From Aberdeen Angus beef to whisky and from the unsurpassed local fisheries to Scotland’s favourite shortbread there are world famous products and brands throughout the region. In every sense of the words, we offer you a feast for your senses.
Alternatively, if you are more of town dweller, you’ll be able to choose from an amazing spectrum of entertainments from Premier League football to a West End show playing at one of Scotland’s premier theatres, His Majesty’s in Aberdeen. In addition, Aberdeen regularly plays host to some of the biggest bands and artistes in the country. If you are a golfer, then, as you would expect in Scotland, you’ll be well catered for throughout the region with some beautiful and historic courses to test your skills. You might even try the ancient Scottish sport of curling.
The range of activities is vast but one of the biggest attractions is that the prices are often far less than you would pay in the UK’s major metropolitan centres. Indeed, entry to many attractions, such as Aberdeen’s first-class Art Gallery or the city’s excellent parks and gardens, is free.
