Education
The Scottish education system has been famed, literally, for centuries, and with good cause. From primary school through secondary and beyond to tertiary education, Aberdeen has a well deserved reputation for educational excellence. With one of Britain’s ancient universities, and one of the most recent, as well as Colleges of Further Education and Adult Education classes and courses in each of the main centres throughout the region, Grampian will be able to cater for all of your, and your family’s, educational needs.
Primary and Secondary Education
Nursery, pre-school and primary schools are widely spread across the region and range in size from small schools with only a few teachers through to larger establishments in the towns and city. The region’s secondary schools are, naturally, larger, and, of necessity, based in the country towns and the city of Aberdeen. There is an excellent range of both public and private schools, at all levels. It is also worth noting that NHS Grampian has its own nursery facilities and staff with children under school age may apply for a place.Details of public schools in the North-East of Scotland can be found by visiting the council websites listed below and details of private schools can be found by searching www.yell.com under Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, classification: Independent Schools.
